Dear Mr. President,

Wonderful day sir! Let me first express my warmest gratitude for your efforts and contributions. Filipinos wanted the best for their country, selecting and trusting someone who will carry our whole country is a massive decision for many of us. You gave the convincing words but still there is no such as thing as a perfect president. There will always be areas for criticisms and concerns. So, did Filipinos make the right decisions?

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte

You made many vows and promises to the people, you know your words. Your most famous campaign promise were to end drugs and corruption in three to six months of your term; that soon lead to War on Drugs. Which made great changes primarily decreasing the crime rate here in our country. But still many people are against and are not in favor of such killing and human right violation. In my perspective it is not realistic to have a bloodless and clean fight with drug lords and dealers that are backed with powerful people. Like what you have said before your presidency “If I become president, there's no such thing as bloodless cleansing”. Living in a place where consumption of illegal drugs is evident I can say that having an arm of steel was needed. It resulted to great change for our society but many including I are not thoroughly convinced that all the people arrested are guilty of such crime.

The virus brought change to all countries over the world, but it is obvious that our government is taking too much time resolving Covid-19 and handling it horribly. While other countries are getting back on their feet and even opening schools were still here on strict lockdowns. Imagine locking families inside their houses without food and expecting them to comply. Even though our country is in great depth the lack of governmental support is still very evident. Corrupt.

But despite all the criticisms, you still managed to help develop and somehow improve our country starting with: the BBB (Build, Build, Build) program which helped in the economy of our country, as well as implementing a clean up program and restoring the original beauty of Manila Bay. We must realize that there is no perfect president either they voted for a saint, if I were in your shoes, I know I wouldn’t be able to keep my composure. We must realize that before everything you were once an individual that desired for change and decided to start that change, so all in all I am very thankful for all your hard work and dedication for our country, I think you already held enough, you should step back and focus on your self more. Keep safe and God bless you.
