The Lenten season is one of the most significant times of the year for many Christians around the world. Lent is a period of fasting and penance involving the dual disciplines of abstinence and fasting. It is rooted in the 40-day fast of Jesus in the wilderness. The purpose of Lent is to be a season of fasting, spiritual growth, conversion, and simplicity. We are all born with the curse of sin and there is repentance required. Jesus taught us clearly that there is no resurrection without the Cross, to fully recognize our brokenness as humans and the need for a Savior.
Lent gives us time to prepare our minds and hearts for remembering the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. A period for us to reflect and open our hearts to Jesus. It is a season for deepening our spiritual life
