I always use the internet to search something I don’t know. The moment I scanned through the pages of my first ICT modules I realized that I’m clueless about the history of something I’ve been using to search things I didn’t know about. During this first quarter I got to do things I wouldn’t do unless it’s required for school, and I can say that it was full of hard work, tears, and determination. But in the end, I can say that I learned a lot despite being stuck at home.

In the midst of all this chaos and struggle, it’s been difficult to stay motivated and keep up. I have been doing distance learning for quite some time now, but the feeling of missing school still hasn’t worn off. I do my works when everybody is asleep because of assigned modules that is due at the end of the week, student’s workload truly increased a lot. These past weeks have been challenging and I’m sure what follows won’t be easy either. Just like how it always goes for me, a roller coaster ride. There were sleepless nights, lack of time and some struggles balancing school and family responsibilities. But just like last time as time goes by, I’m slowly getting the hang of it again.

A lot of things has happened through the last few months of my journey, I learned many concepts such as tracing the history of internet, identifying people behind its development, as well as identifying its services and tools, web browsers, web server, World Wide Web, Classify Domain Name System, data rate units, Internet Connection Bandwidth, internet access and classifying the types of data found on the internet.

What makes this quarter memorable for me is learning about blogs, from creating, applying themes, citing the sources used, personal designs, starting to write and upload blogs on the internet. I got the chance to make my own Blog and post a public post about my knowledge about a topic. Blogging helped me construct articles, explore the internet, and improve my writing skills. Though constructing articles is a challenge for me, for the that it is in public, and others can see or read it as well. I experienced struggles with making my post but with the help of the internet, I was able to search facts and dig deeper information to be added to my articles. Also, I have struggled with formatting my post mostly with applying images and spacing. But with making more posts and spending more time understanding it’s tools and capabilities, I got used to it.

Another memorable and useful lesson I learned is learning about search engines. Through this lesson I was able to learn about combining terms and how to search information properly. Learning about phrase searching, Boolean logic, pseudo-Boolean logic and weighing is very useful for me because I can easily find reliable sites on the internet faster.

Moving on I will always try my best to continue to use all this knowledge and apply all the concepts I’ve learned in my everyday life. The lessons that I’ve learned will always remain in me and now I have to ready myself for another journey of learning.
